Reflections

It has been a while since I have blogged. Although blogging takes time, I feel that it is good in a way that it allows one to sit down for reflections. Life passes by so fast and it is often refreshing to pause for a moment to make sense of the happenings around me.

A month and a half back, I have just finished school and gotten back all my results. I was disappointed as I did not achieve my goal because of my accounting modules. It took me quite a while to get over it and I have straightened out my thoughts. Gotta S.U.M.O. (Shut up move on) Laura secured her summa and I am very happy for her. 2 days ago SMU had its Commencement and this marked the end of a chapter.

SMU has left a lot of fond memories for me. My greatest takeaway from SMU would be to have known Laura, someone who has made a lot of difference to my life. For one, I learned from her that there were many approaches one could make to a single matter, other than the hard approach which I used to believe in. She spreads her energy and enthusiasm to me and I feel upbeat about life. I always feel that I have her support in everything I do, and hence I have the courage to pursue many things. I am thankful for the relationship we share.

SMU has also made me have a different perception on friendship. For one, I learned to appreciate diversity and seeing the goodness in every individual. Although I have to admit that there are still people I do not like, I feel myself opening up and appreciating people around me. Rather than emphasizing on their negative points, I feel that it is always healthier the other way round.

SMU made me realize the importance of relativity and the fact that nothing is constant and absolute. Instead, one should constantly be changing, upgrading and improving to stay ahead. Also, there is no one approach to doing something to make things work. It is always good to be flexible and resolute.

2 weeks later, a new chapter of my life unfolds. Army and university life has made me realize the importance of starting something on a positive note. Let’s make it good.
